Week 8-ROLES OF INSTITUTIONS FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT(28 Nov 2024)

Assalamualaikum, I'm Fakrullah bin Zakaria from the Arabic Department would like to share my study journey of SCSH 1201.

Introduction

Let's lend a human touch to the roles of institutions for sustainable development (SDG 16 and 17).Imagine a future with equal opportunities for all, where our planet is alive and well, where peace and prosperity bullies rule the streets. That is the concept behind the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). However, attaining this vision takes enormous institutional power to carry us there.SDG 16 and 17 are aimed at establishing these institutions. When implemented, SDG 16 would imply establishing peace and justice. SDG 17, on the other side, is about collaborating to achieve these objectives. It is about forming partnerships between governments, corporations, and civil society to address the world's major concerns.

Personal Reflection

Thinking about SDG 16 and 17 helped me understand how vital strong institutions and collaboration are in creating a better society. SDG 16 focuses on peace and justice, reminding us that fair and honest procedures are critical to addressing issues like as inequality. SDG 17 focuses on partnerships, demonstrating how collaboration may lead to long-term transformation. This made me reflect on how I can promote justice and teamwork in my own life. Even little efforts can contribute to a more peaceful and cohesive community.

Application of Learning

Learning about SDGs 16 and 17 has made me realize the value of fairness, justice, and collaboration in attaining sustainable development. I've recognized that even simple activities, such as encouraging honesty, settling problems amicably, and supporting community projects, can help us achieve these goals. Moving forward, I intend to prioritize healthy relationships and collaboration in my daily life in order to contribute to a brighter future for all.

Additional Self-Improvement

After learning about SDGs 16 and 17, I resolved to strive for greater fairness and cooperation in my daily life. I aim to listen more, manage issues peacefully, and promote teamwork wherever possible. By improving myself, I hope to contribute, even in small ways, to a more peaceful and sustainable world.

Conclusion

SDG 16 and 17 emphasize the need of peace, justice, and partnerships in achieving sustainable development. Strong institutions and teamwork are critical to creating a better future. We can all help to create a more sustainable and inclusive world by promoting fairness, teamwork, and modest positive actions.
