Week 9- FIELD WORKS - ON CAMPUS OBSERVATION IIUM AS SUSTAINABLE CAMPUS:Students as Agent of Change(12 Nov 2024)

Assalamualaikum, I'm Fakrullah bin Zakaria from the Arabic Department would like to share my study journey of SCSH 1201.

Introduction
Every student has the capacity to have a beneficial influence, particularly if they are motivated by their environment. Sustainability is a core value at IIUM, and my recent experience there has made me more aware of the ways we can all help create a more sustainable and greener future. From eco-friendly initiatives to collaborative efforts within the campus, I’ve learned that change begins with small, consistent actions. This reflection captures my thoughts and takeaways on being part of a community striving to make a difference.

Personal Reflection
I've learned the value of taking little steps to make huge changes from being a member of a sustainable campus like IIUM. I've come to understand that every effort counts, whether it's cutting back on waste, saving water, or taking part in green projects. I've been motivated by this experience to improve my community and become more conscious of my habits.

Application of Learning
Small steps are the first step toward sustainability, I've discovered. I can put this into practice by encouraging others to join green activities, cutting back on waste, and conserving water. We can improve our neighborhood and environment if we work together.

Additional Self-Improvement
I intend to pay closer attention to my everyday routines, such as minimizing waste and making prudent use of resources. I can support a more responsible and sustainable way of living by bettering myself.

Conclusion
Sustainability is a collective duty. We can improve the future for everybody and have a beneficial effect on the environment by cooperating and taking tiny steps.

  2. I agree with your point about students as agents of change in sustainability on campus. In my experience, I’ve found that peer influence plays a huge role in promoting sustainable habits. For example, organizing interactive events like eco-workshops or competitions often inspires more students to participate actively.
